As small, social-benefit comms and community engagement shop, we are committed to working with partners across the spectrum—regardless of budget size or capacity—and to building a more just and accessible communications landscape.
We recognize that some of the most vital work in our communities happens at the grassroots level, often without access to professional communications support. Meet Evergreen Insight’s Founder
Hi, I'm Burt—the owner and managing director of Evergreen Insights NW.
There's an old saying that if you see a turtle sitting on a fencepost, you know it had some help getting there.
Over the past 25+ years, I have successfully developed and led numerous communications campaigns to help enact new legislation, shape local and state policy initiatives, and bring a diverse array of voices to shape critical public debates on pressing policy issues, from climate change to voting rights.
In spring 2025, I launched Evergreen Insights, LLC—a Pacific Northwest-based social-benefit startup centered on authentic communications, community engagement, and creative storytelling.

Case Study
Building a New Brand, Strengthening Community Connections in Uncertain Times
In spring 2020, I led the rebrand for the 40th anniversary of Friends of the Columbia Gorge, one of the largest place-based conservation groups in the Pacific Northwest. Collaborating with local video storytelling firm Holden Films, we produced a special anniversary video, 'The Columbia Gorge: A Place Worth Protecting,' as a key element of our rebrand launch and community engagement.
Originally envisioned as part of our traditional annual meeting, this video launched a larger storytelling initiative. It also became an invaluable digital tool to reach our community, as pandemic restrictions during a spring surge prevented the organization from holding its traditional in-person events.
